To celebrate and promote its renovations and management changes, Andretti Indoor Karting and Games in Roswell has officially reopened.
The entertainment venue held a grand reopening last weekend, starting with a Friday afternoon ribbon cutting led by Roswell Mayor Jere Wood, NASCAR driver John Andretti and others.
“We wanted to create a more spectacular experience for the community,” Andretti said. “There’s always something going on here.”
According to owner Stan Manousos, who spoke at the reopening, the renovations mark a rebirth of Andretti’s in the community.
“More than a rebirth of what we’ve done cosmetically and physically, we want to be an extension of the community,” he said.
According to Warren Fondu, director of operations at Andretti’s, when new management stepped in last June, it was decided that the facility needed to be overhauled.
“We wanted to breathe new life into the facility and hopefully inspire a new legacy,” Fondu said. “Our greatest strength is our product, and our product is entertainment.”
Fondu said the top priority was to make the venue more family-friendly.
“We want to get back in the market of families; that’s what we’re all about,” he said. “In previous years, we’d seen a kind of shift away from families, but our goal is to be a one-stop entertainment shop for the whole family.”
Andretti’s now offers a new indoor karting track, a new fleet of karts, new riding equipment, new video games, new ticket redemption games, a new glow-in-the-dark rock climbing wall, the Highway 66 Bowling Alley, new paint and carpeting, the Funny Farm Comedy Club and a rebranding of Ethyl’s Diner.
“We’ve toned Ethyl’s down and changed the atmosphere to be more a restaurant instead of a bar,” Fondu said. “We’ll still cater some to the over-21 crowd, but we wanted Ethyl’s to be family-friendly.”
Fondu also said a new chef is creating the menu, which now changes each season.
Andretti Indoor Karting and Games is at 11000 Alpharetta Highway.
