In closing out 2008 with a record of 6-4, the Centennial Lady Knights varsity basketball team is off to its best start under third-year head coach Lindsay Meekhof. Centennial recently won two out of three games at the KSA Holiday Invitational at Disney World, claiming third place in the tournament.

Behind improved defensive pressure, the Lady Knights have been able to break the trend of early-season swoons - Centennial began the last two seasons with 2-5 records. The team is allowing just 44.4 points per game, and held opponents to 36.3 points per game in Orlando, Fla. from Dec. 27 to Dec. 30.

In addition to stingy defense, what are some other factors in Centennial's encouraging start to the 2008-2009 season?
